AIRMAIL
Hello:
The Airforwarders Association takes our mission very seriously - to be an
effective advocate for members and to provide information and education to the
airforwarding industry. As such, in 2009 we continue our extensive national
tour, visiting regional air cargo associations to provide information about
regulatory and Congressional activities so all our members are prepared to face
upcoming challenges. It is also an opportunity for the Association to learn
more about the local issues impacting your businesses to make us more effective
advocates on your behalf.
The Association believes it is critically important to have our existing members engaged in these local cargo events. As such, it is our hope that, by keeping you informed of where AfA has been speaking and where we will be in the future, we will see many of you attending these events and spreading the AfA message. It is our strength in numbers, creativity and cohesiveness that has assisted us in winning many battles and gaining recognition with policy makers, and only with your ongoing involvement can we continue to achieve success.
This week and next, we have two informative and exciting events coming up in Minneapolis and New York. We certainly hope you can attend and look forward to seeing you.
MINNEAPOLIS
The Airforwarders Association will next be in Minneapolis on Tuesday March
24, 2009 for Transportation Club of Minneapolis and St. Paul's Annual Expo. If
you would like to attend the event, please RSVP online at
www.office@transportationclub.com. Seating is limited to the first 100 people. The meeting will be held at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel, 7800 Normandale Blvd in Minneapolis. Contact the Club office at 952-239-1226 or go to www.transportationclub.com for more information. The Expo is from 9:30 to 4:00 p.m.
NEW YORK
After Minneapolis, we will then be in New York on Thursday, March 26, 2009 for
the annual JFK Air Cargo Expo 2009. The theme for this year's event is
"Navigating from Turbulent Times to Clearer Skies". You may attend by
registering with Rene Espinet at respinet@forwardair.com.
The meeting will be at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, JFK International Airport from
8:00-3:00 p.m. For more information, go to www.jfkaircargo.org.
If you are a member of your local air cargo association and would like to
discuss our availability to attend your next meeting, please let me know; I'd
be honored to attend to work more closely with your region.
