Despite significant progress being made in screening cargo on
passenger planes, the Airforwarders Association recently advised Congress that
major challenges remain on the path to safeguarding air cargo in this country.
At the upcoming San Francisco Air Cargo Association's monthly
luncheon, you will learn about the current status of the existing
Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP); its effective implementation; its
progress to date; as well as ongoing efforts by AfA to refine and improve the
program to maximize its ability to achieve the 100% screening mandate and
enhanced security.
Executive Director Brandon Fried will present "Turbulence Ahead: Air
Cargo in the Era of Increased Security and Regulations," featuring a
discussion on how a lack of funding will affect the new screening mandate, the
true meaning of the Transportation Security Administration's Certified
Cargo Screening Program and vital issues impacting your business in the air
freight industry.
The Airforwarders Association takes its mission very seriously - to be an
effective advocate for members and to provide information and education to the
airforwarding industry. As such, in 2009 we continue our extensive national
tour, visiting regional air cargo associations to provide information about
regulatory and Congressional activities so all our members are prepared to face
upcoming challenges. It is also an opportunity for the Association to learn
more about the local issues impacting your businesses to make us more effective
advocates on your behalf.
This event is open to everyone but space is limited. Reserve your seat
